During the winter session, campers are placed in local schools to "shadow" a typical day student. Students attend classes and after-school activities, work on projects and complete homework assignments, just like an enrolled student would.
Most days after school, winter shadowers attend ESL classes on site with their teachers. They also have the option to partake in school athletic programs, after-school clubs, and volunteering opportunities. Students have an opportunity to befriend American students and get a taste of what being a full time day student abroad might be like.
The winter session allows children to experience life in the day school program as well as enjoy a completely immersive experience as they sample American culture. Snowy New England weather guarantees that children will have many chances to enjoy sledding and playing in the snow. Campers enjoy a variety of winter activities including tubing, skiing, indoor rock-climbing, and ice skating with their host families and fellow campers.
